Adoption Hope International is
proud to network with the DATZ foundation to find loving homes for orphans
in China. As an agency registered in the People's Republic of China, the
DATZ foundation processes the dossier overseas.
| Parent Requirements |
We are only accepting married couples at this time for our China program. To
adopt "healthy" infants, China has a preference for prospective adoptive parents
to be between the ages of 30 and 50, with a combined age for couples that does not exceed
100. Prospective parents who do not meet these criteria will be considered for either a
child two years or older, or an infant with medically correctable conditions such as
malnutrition, low birth weight, club foot, cleft palate, etc. |
|
|
| Available Children |
Infants, toddlers, older children, and children with special needs are available;
the vast majority of the infants are female. There are no sibling groups available, and
only one child may be adopted except in the case of twins. |
|
|
| Adoption Timetable |
The first step is submit the dossier. The waiting time for a referral is
over 24
months at this time. Travel is 4 to 6 weeks later. |
|
|
| Method of Referral |
Children are assigned by the China Adoption Center based on the adoptive
parent(s) request in their dossier. The referral consists of a photograph and medical
report on the child. If, upon meeting the child in China, the adoptive parent(s) do not
accept the child, it is possible to select and adopt a different child while there. |

|
| Travel Requirements |
Only one parent is required to travel. Time spent in China averages between eight
and 10 days. Immigration processing is done through Guangzhou, China. |
